I come out of the earth, I am sold in the market. He who buys me cuts my tail, takes off my suit of silk, and weeps beside me when I am dead. What am I?
I'm posting one puzzle, riddle, math, or statistical problem a day. Try to answer each one and post your answers in the comments section. I'll post the answer the next day. Even if you have the same answer as someone else, feel free to put up your answer, too!

ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome riddle! I had some fun and re-wrote it to make it into a poem:
ReplyDeleteYou cut off my tail, yet nothing I have bled.
You cut open my skin for my meat instead,
and weep beside me when I am dead.
i like the re-written poem version because it sounds so macabre, and it's nice and misleading because the answer is so simple an innocent.
