We are seven busy brothers laboring every day.
Always helping others in everything they say.
The first in the Amazon doth dwell,
The second in Egypt has a cell,
The third in Ireland makes his home,
The fourth of us resides in Rome,
The fifth and seventh are in you,
The sixth is everywhere in view.
Who are the seven busy brothers?
I'm posting one puzzle, riddle, math, or statistical problem a day. Try to answer each one and post your answers in the comments section. I'll post the answer the next day. Even if you have the same answer as someone else, feel free to put up your answer, too!

I guess it's vowels, although I never liked the fact that some people consider "w" a vowel. "Y" is a vowel sometimes, for sure ("lyre", "dysfunctional", "lady"), but I'm not so sure about "w"...
ReplyDeleteI'd never seen a w being treated as a vowel before. It sort of makes sense, but given all those years where people told me about aeiou and sometimes y, it makes it hard for me wrap my brain around it.
