Pear Brandy Wednesday
In many liquor stores, you can buy pear brandy, with a real pear inside the bottle. The pear is whole and ripe, and the bottle is genuine; it hasn't been cut in any way. How did the pear get inside the bottle?

Either you shape the glass around the pear, which seems unlikely, since the heat would probably destroy the pear, or at least roast it...
ReplyDeleteOr, you'd have to grow the pear inside the bottle. That's my guess.
To get the Pear in the bottle you do indeed grow the pear in the bottle. You wait until your pear tree is flowering, then put one of the buds in the bottle, fix it in place and let your pear grow. You need to harvest your bottled pear before it's fully ripe to prevent damage to the neck of the bottle.
ReplyDeleteI like my booze,
Another fun question about alcohol, what is the portion of alcohol that evaporates during the aging of whiskey called?
Angels Share?
ReplyDeleteYou do grow the pear inside the bottle. Makes it interesting, no?
