1) I'm looking at my watch. From this moment on, the hour hand will take exactly twice as long as the minute hand to reach the number six. What time is it?
2) Again, I'm looking at my watch. From this moment on, the hour hand will take exactly three times longer than the minute hand to reach the number six. What time is it?
I'm posting one puzzle, riddle, math, or statistical problem a day. Try to answer each one and post your answers in the comments section. I'll post the answer the next day. Even if you have the same answer as someone else, feel free to put up your answer, too!

1) 5:00
ReplyDelete2) 5:15
5:00 and 5:15 work for 1 and 2, respectively. But 3:45 also works for the second one as well. It takes 45 minutes to reach the six for the minute hand and 135 minutes (2 hours and 15 minutes) for the hour hand.
