I'm posting one puzzle, riddle, math, or statistical problem a day. Try to answer each one and post your answers in the comments section. I'll post the answer the next day. Even if you have the same answer as someone else, feel free to put up your answer, too!

Twice a day... When it is 11:00am or pm. Add two and you get 1:00
ReplyDeleteI guess I'd say -5. Take two of those, which together equal -10, and add them to 11, that gives you 1.
ReplyDeleteNice interpretation andy! I never would have thought of that.
ReplyDeleteI was going for adding 2 hours to 11 to get 1.
Of course I was just being a smart aleck.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you add to 11 to get one baker's dozen?
ReplyDeletejonathan, do you mind if I post this as a question on Monday? I'm not sure anyone will see it here.
ReplyDeletei thought jonathan's point was just that it's another answer to your riddle...you can add TWO to 11 to get ONE baker's dozen.
ReplyDeleteAgreeing with earlier posts, sort of
ReplyDeleteAnytime you work mod 12. though i guess then you're talking congruence
when you put 2 cannibals in a room with 11 people you usually only end up with one.
