I'm posting one puzzle, riddle, math, or statistical problem a day. Try to answer each one and post your answers in the comments section. I'll post the answer the next day. Even if you have the same answer as someone else, feel free to put up your answer, too!

100 coins
A man has 100 coins (there are no quarters or nickels) that add up to $5.00. How many coins did he have of each denomination?

60 pennies
ReplyDelete39 dimes
1 half-dollar
I'm surprised no one got the other possibility. As mr don pointed out, 60 pennies, 39 dimes and 1 half dollar works. But so does 70 pennies, 28 dimes, one half dollar and one dollar coin.
