Four Cars

Four cars come to a four way stop, all coming from a different direction. They can't decide who got there first, so they all go forward at the same time. They do not crash into each other, but all four cars go. How is this possible?

  1. Well the first thing that comes to mind is that they are all at different intersections.

Here's a trivia question for you: what two countries in the world whose names differ by only one letter are geographically closest together?

  2. Nope, sorry. They are all at the same intersection (but I understand the confusion).

And if I'm thinking correctly about your question, it's Iran and Iraq.

  3. They all accelerated to different velocities?

  4. NO! I GOT IT!... THEY ALL MADE RIGHT TURNS!

(or left turns at a British intersection)

  5. Except the question says they all went forward.

They all went at exactly the same speed and missed eachother. Lie a pinwheel or something.

  6. Well... they all did a right turn in a Forward gear (as opposed to R).

I do like the Pinwheel theory... that is probably correct.

  7. Right turns was what I was thinking of. All good points, though. My Americentric mind concentrated on right, not left! ;-)

  8. Mike,

what's the NEXT closest set of countries that differ by one letter, after Iran and Iraq?
