Heat things up

When I fill a balloon with water and I hold a burning candle underneath it for some time, the balloon will explode. True or False?

  1. False. When you fill the balloon with air, it will melt and explode when the air breaks free. But the cooling capacity of a fluid is much higher than that one of air. So the heat of the flame is completely absorbed in the water, and the balloon doesn't notice it's being warmed up at all.
